Colour Play

I hope you enjoyed the photo of the colour play beads I posted yesterday.  I certainly got lots of nice comments on Facebook and Instagram.  Thanks for the response.

All of the Colour Play jewellery is now listed in my shop….just a reminder they are all one-off pieces.  Plus FREE shipping.

So, in case you were wondering, this month the beads and jewellery have been inspired by the Pantone Colour of the Year for 2016.

A softer take on color for 2016: For the first time, the blending of two shades – Rose Quartz and Serenity are chosen as the PANTONE Color of the Year.

Click the link to find out more about why these colours were chosen.

Here is my take on the colour combination:

Colour Play

My final post about the colour red (for a while anyway).

I do love red!  I still have people who say they first found out about my jewellery through the “10,000 red glass beads” exhibition.  Oh, my, that was probably one of my favourite exhibitions to put together.  Such a challenge in so many ways.

This last series of necklaces is based on a necklace that I make every now and then, but when I make this style I use 3 different colours!  It can be very colourful indeed.  I was curious to see what one colour would look like….and I have to say….I quite like it!  Each photo can be clicked and it will take you to the shop.

On my walk this morning…

Thanks to everyone who visited me at Flinders Street Market on Saturday!  I am always grateful when people take time out to stop by to say hello and maybe pick up a special piece for themselves or someone else.  Thank you!

I’m excited about the week ahead.  I’m starting work on a new Colour Play series, and this time it’s quite different from the other collections.  I’ll be finishing the Red Colour Play on Wednesday.  Next week I’ll have the new collection ready to show you.  If you are subscribed to my newsletter, you’ll be the first to see it!

Speaking of my newsletter…congratulations to Chris who won a pair of earrings this month.  Thanks for letting me know you are enjoying wearing them (and getting compliments)!  That message really made my day.

Colour Play

I have a lot of fun making these leather necklaces.  I was curious to see which one people would be drawn to.  I took them to the Flinders Street Market on Sunday, and it was quite split between two of them.  Some people loved the all red look, and others preferred the red with the black leather.

Colour Play

Last week I started colour play!  I hope to make at  least 2 necklaces each week and have them here to show you on the blog.

This week I have 2 new necklaces made from assorted red flower disk beads.  I like how both necklaces have exactly the same beads, but with completely different results!  (Note: the necklace on the silver chain has sold, but I am making a series of these necklaces in assorted colours if you are interested).

Here are some images, feel free to click on them and you will be directed to my online shop:

Colour Play

Oh, exciting, it’s time (finally) for Colour Play!

So, I was saying yesterday that I’ve been doing a lot of production lately, and have not really made anything “new” for a while.  I decided to do something about it, and so every week I’ll be featuring a new necklace (or two).   Well, some of them might not be entirely new, but they might have sparked some new work.  We’ll find out as we go!

This month I decided to play with red beads.  I make a lot of necklaces with red as the feature, but with other colours too, such as black and white or orange.  This month I wanted to stick, strictly, with just red beads.

This first week I am featuring necklaces that have 9 red teardrop beads.  Both versions are pretty cool, and I’m struggling to work out which one is my favourite.  I think it would depend on what I was wearing it with to be honest.

Without further ado…here are the 2 new necklaces I am sharing with you this week.  Both necklaces (along with several others) are available in my shop.  You can simply click on the photo to go to my shop.  Enjoy!

Getting ready for Colour Play…

I’ve been spending a lot of time doing production work lately, and I have been feeling like playing with colour again.  I’m starting a new “thing” on my blog, called Colour Play!  Each week I’ll feature a couple of necklaces in a colour that I am playing with.  The pieces will be one-off pieces, available for sale on my website at a discounted rate.  I am curious to see what people like too.  This will be a Wednesday feature, so come back again tomorrow to see what I feature first.
