It’s day 5 of my #ayearofrecycledglassjewellery challenge! I’m really loving making all of these new necklaces. I promise I will be making some new earrings very soon for all of the earring lovers out there!

Today I have put together a selection of cool blues, clears and silvery tones. Perfect for such a hot day!  Reminds me that we are going swimming very soon. Stay cool…

Green recycled glass necklace

Champagne bottle Recycled glass beads

We are on summer holidays here, and my days are being filled with sunshine, swimming and recycled glass beads!

This necklace is made with beads from a Moet champagne bottle, as well as beads made from Peroni beer bottles. Both greens are so different, it was lovely to mix them together in this necklace.

Mixed blues and greens – recycled glass necklace

Recycled glass necklace

These are some of my favourite beads to make, and I love the mix of colours in this necklace. It feels just right for a warm day like it is here.

I have used an assortment of recycled glass to make the beads in this necklace. It has ended up being a longer style necklace, another option that is perfect in this warmer weather.

A year of recycled glass jewellery

Recycled glass necklace

Hello, and welcome to my blog for 2018! I’m a big fan of New Years. I also love new months, new weeks, and new days!  This year I have decided to challenge myself a little bit. I’m going to share a photograph of recycled glass jewellery every day. I love making beads from recycled glass, and I love that people resonate with it so much.

To kick the year off I have made a necklace from some of the recycled glass beads that I made from a Coopers Ale bottle. I love the sparkly gold and silver beads in between.

To be honest, I really love that a product destined for a bin can be transformed into a beautiful, wearable piece of art!  Thanks for joining me on this journey for 2018.

2017 Photos

recycled glass jewellery

It was lovely to look back on the most liked photos on Instagram and discover that they were all about recycled glass!

I love making beads from recycled glass, and I am so grateful for the opportunities to exhibit my work in so many amazing galleries around Australia.

It was a great experience taking this work to markets, and talking to people about the process and the product. My favourite compliment was “this is the ultimate in recycling.”

2017 saw a big push for me with my recycled glass jewellery, and I’m looking forward to exploring it further in 2018.

Thanks…

I just wanted to say a big sparkly THANKS to everyone who visited me at the Etsy market in Norwood yesterday. It was a beautiful evening for a market, and was made really special by the huge crowds and the amazing sellers too! I loved being part of it all. It was so much fun talking to everyone about what I do. One person even commented on the recycled glass jewellery, saying “This is the ultimate in recycling!”

My last market for the year is next weekend. Friday 15 and 16 December at Harts Mill, Port Adelaide. I’ll pop by with more details later in the week, but here is the Facebook link in case you are interested.
