Bombay Sapphire Gin Bracelets

I would have to say that one of the most popular recycled glass bottles that I use is Bombay Sapphire Gin. The colour is great, and works for many different people. It helps if they like to drink gin, it kind of adds to the story….but either way the colour is super pretty.

I have a nice selection of bracelets available in my Etsy shop, in all of the different types of glass, and if you’d like to go shopping I am offering 20% discount in my Etsy shop.  Just use the code THANKS when you checkout.

Bethany Wines

I’m thrilled to announce that I have a selection of recycled glass bead jewellery available for sale at Bethany Wines. I have used their wine bottles to create a unique collection of jewellery especially for them.

Bethany Wines are located just out of Tanunda, in the Barossa Valley. Now is a perfect time to visit the Barossa, it’s so pretty! Plus, so many great places to stop for a coffee or a glass of wine while you are there.

Murray Bridge Show

I have to confess that entering my jewellery in the local show is one of the most fun parts of the year!  These country shows are so full of traditions, and so well organised, that its always awesome to be a tiny part of it all. The people who organise the  competition side of the shows, put in huge amounts of effort to make sure things run smoothly, and that everything is judged and displayed properly. It really is quite an honour to be part of it all, and one of the things I love about living in a regional location.

This year I entered 3 necklaces, and I am stoked to say that two of them received prizes. The rainbow/colour wheel necklace won First Prize and Outstanding Exhibit! And the recycled glass necklace won Second Prize.

I can’t wait to enter next year. The Murray Bridge Show is celebrating 100 years next year, so whatever I enter will have to be a little bit special.

If you are curious….here is the post from last year!

Bead sorting…

It’s been a busy time in the studio. I have some galleries to refresh/restock, and some other projects to work on. It’s important to keep everything sorted and organised. I love using these wine glasses to sort the recycled glass beads into their assorted colours.  I have about a dozen of these glasses, leftover from a party I had many years ago, and they now come in handy in my studio!

New green earrings

I have been making all sorts of new earrings this year, and I have loved most of the earrings that I have made.  Yeah, you know, not all of them are for me.  But I have to say that this latest pair of earrings is definitely one of my favourites.  They are long, comfortable, light, and I am even sleeping in them with no problems.  Oh, and I am still wearing scarves with them too!

I made the glass beads from a Bethany wine bottle, and I really love this colour.  I would call this a fairly neutral green, as it seems to work with so many colours.

The perfect necklace for spring!

It’s no secret that I am not a fan of winter.  Sigh, unfortunately the cold weather is just not for me.  I’m a summer girl.  I like to feel warm.  I love the first day of Spring!  The longer days, the warmer days, the promise that the cold will be ending…soon.

I am really looking forward to my shift at T’Arts tomorrow.  I have a pink shirt that I have been itching to wear, and now I have these green necklaces from my SALA exhibition at Bethany wines to wear with it.  I am going all in for spring!

These necklaces were made to represent “growth”.  At the moment, the vines in the Barossa Valley are absolutely bare, but it won’t be long before they start shooting leaves here and there.

Bottles

This is the last collection of jewellery to show you from the Bethany Winery exhibition.  I have loved using the Bethany wine bottles, and this range is dedicated to the beautiful colours in the bottles.  I love the shape of these beads, they are so different and really interesting to work with, they have pushed my work in new directions for sure!
