On my walk this morning…

No walk for me this morning, in fact it’s been almost a week since my last walk, and I’m really missing it.  I’ve been quite sick, the sickest I’ve felt for a long time, and I don’t like it at all!

Here’s to a week of feeling better.  I think I’m almost better, but I’m still trying to get as much rest as possible.  It’s hard being sick, and having kids, and having a small business to run.  Not ideal at all.

On Saturday I’ll be at Flinders Street Market again.  Round She Goes (the vintage market), is on at the German Club, so it is a great opportunity to check out 2 really cool Adelaide markets.

Hope to see you there.

On my walk this morning…

Spring is in the air!

Thanks to everyone who has visited my SALA exhibition at the City Library or Pepper Street Art Centre or T’Arts.  I love hearing from you.  Glad to hear you are enjoying the other work on display too.

SALA is so important to me as an artist.  This year is my 8th solo SALA exhibition, and it has been a great opportunity to display my work in a new environment.

Thank to the Adelaide City Library for having me, to the Adelaide City Council for helping me with the costs, and to SALA for pulling it all together!

Have you seen any good exhibitions this year?

On my walk this morning…

I had a wonderful weekend in Melbourne with my mum!  But I’m also glad to be back at home with my family.

  • I hope you get a chance to visit some of the wonderful SALA exhibitions that are on at the moment.  My work is on display at the Adelaide City Library, Pepper Street Art Centre and T’Arts.
  • The sale in my Etsy shop ends August 9.  The next sale will be February 2016, so if you were thinking about buying anything, now is a great time.  Use the code FLASH30 when you checkout.
  • It’s time to think about my next markets which will be at Flinders Street Market on Sunday August 16 and Saturday August 29.  Really looking forward to them, and I’ll have some new products available there.

On my walk this morning…

Er, I have to admit, I did not go for a walk this morning.  Instead I was in my studio!  The day before I set up for my SALA exhibition, and I’m almost there, but it’s a bit chaotic!

I will be at the opening of my SALA City Library exhibition on Friday from 6.00-7.00pm.  Hope to see you there!

Life…

I would normally post something today, but life has kind of gotten in the way this week.

You know how it is?  Kids.  Business.  Problems.  Life.

I have some exciting new things in development, but they are going to have to wait until next week to share with you.

Until then, have a great week!

And don’t forget to sign up for my monthly newsletter for your chance to win a pair of earrings from my online shop!

May Newsletter

April was an eventful month, with school holidays and some other exciting things happening, and that also meant I didn’t get a lot of new work made.

Instead I have a special offer for Mother’s Day.

  • Until Sunday May 3 you are welcome to use the code MUM2015 to receive 25% discount in my Etsy Shop.
  • I’ll be selecting another newsletter subscriber next month to win a pair of earrings of their choice from my online shop.  Subscribe for your chance to win!
  • I will be returning to the Flinders Street Market on Saturday May 2 from 10am until 3pm.  It is set to be a big market, definitely worth checking out if you are in Adelaide.
  • It was exciting to see this Kronenbourg Recycled Glass Flower necklace visit Sydney as part of the 2015 Reart International Upcycle Exhibition.  I had lots of positive feedback on the work, and it was great to see so many artists consciously choosing to use recycled materials.

New Beads, New Jewellery, New Year!

NewDripBeads

I am making some new beads and jewellery!  I am Artist of the Month at the Murray Bridge Regional Art Gallery in January and February!  It is quite cool that this coincides with me moving to Murray Bridge.  We didn’t know that at the time we were organising it all.  Now it seems like it was meant to be.

I love the new drip beads that I have made using wine bottles.  I made some for another artist who is using them for a very different type of exhibition (1000 Cups of Cranes).  When I made some for her, I got a bit excited about the possibilities for my own jewellery, and couldn’t wait to get back on the torch to make some more.  I think they are shaping up quite nicely.
