This article was from 2007! Fast forward 17 years and so much has changed and yet I am still drawn to making heart-shaped beads! Some things will never change I guess.

 

My heart obsession continues. Thanks for the lovely feedback on the earrings. It was so much fun putting this bracelet together.

Happy Easter weekend! I have started making the earrings in this new collection of red and pink heart shaped beads. Will be available online towards the end of April.

Love this colour combination! Getting a nice assortment of beads ready for an online release towards the end of April. Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond my control I will not be exhibiting my work at the Pepper Street exhibition celebrating T’Arts 21st birthday. Stay tuned for news of the online collection instead.

We have been trialling opening on a Sunday at @tartscollective and I have to say it’s been a lovely time here so far! Lots of visitors finding us in our 21st year for the first time! I have tidied up my display and made a list of things to bring next time.

A few more test heart-shaped beads to add to the collection! So much fun to make.

Remember my Musings from the Past competition? I invited people to show me their favourite pieces of jewellery that I had made. I got inspired by the first place simple heart necklace (swipe to see that one) and thought it would work perfectly for an upcoming exhibition at Pepper Street Gallery celebrating T’Arts 21st birthday alongside past and present members. I am digging into my past to create a new collection of jewellery. This is the first bead in the journey! Exhibition opens May 3.

The things you can make from a @prohibitionliquor gin bottle! Congratulations to @tartscollective for celebrating 21 years of being an amazing gallery! I have loved my 17 years there and hope for many more. The birthday exhibition currently on display at T’Arts features some beautiful work from a great bunch of artists.

When one of your favourite customers has a beautiful dress that they would like to wear a bracelet with and they ask you to come up with something…I had a lot of fun arranging and rearranging beads for this bracelet until we got it just right! I love making custom orders for people.
