What an amazing experience, visiting the Yayoi Kusama exhibition at the NGV in Melbourne. A mix of my favourite things: colour, dots and Japan.
In your creative activities what’s the one task that you hate doing the most? For me it’s coating my mandrels with bead release. It’s not hard, but you have to get the consistency just right! Too thin and you need to do two coats, too thick and your bead holes end up too big. It’s the kind of job that has to be done, but I don’t enjoy it at all.
I have a box of earrings in the sale window at @tartscollective which will be there for the next few weeks. I have them all priced at $30. Regular prices are $50-$60. Sometimes I just need to clear out some of my older work so I can get on with making new pieces. I hope you get a chance to visit. We are now open 7 days/week!
I can’t say that 2024 was my best year ever, but it wasn’t the worst either. I had a few personal challenges to overcome, and I am proud of myself for some of the hard decisions I had to make. Creatively, I have loved experimenting with different recycled glass, making beads I haven’t made before and sharing things on Etsy where I had the most sales ever. I have so many ideas spilling over into 2025 and I can’t wait to share them with you. My first project is getting a window display ready for T’Arts for the end of February. I am almost ready to start making beads for that. Stay tuned. 2025 is going to be a great year!
Thank you so much for supporting me on @etsy this year. It was lovely to look back at all of the orders and reviews of my jewellery there. These two listing were my best sellers on Etsy this year. I am looking forward to continuing selling my jewellery there again in 2025.
Getting a re-stock of Moet Champagne and Tanqueray Gin bottle earrings ready for my next visit to help out at @tartscollective on Friday.
