Relaxed Sunday afternoon necklace…

recycled glass necklace

It’s the Sunday of a long weekend where I live, and it has been so nice to have a sleep in and a little bit of a relaxing time. It makes a nice change from the past few weeks where it has been a little bit hectic in my world.

Today, to celebrate this chilled out day, I made a necklace to go with those lazy Sunday afternoon vibes. Here it is:

Blue recycled glass bead necklace

I had no idea what I was going to make today! I was kind of running out of time too. The pressure was on. I picked up a blue bead. I felt like I hadn’t made anything blue for a little while, so it seemed like a good place to start. I picked up another blue bead, and another…and at first I thought I was making a bracelet, but when I had enough blue beads out I thought to myself “this would make a pretty necklace.”

And this is what I made today!

The end of summer blues…

bombay sapphire gin necklace

Here’s to the end of another month, and the end of another season. Summer where I live has been a real mixed bag this year, lots of hot weather, and lots of crazy weather in between. I’m looking forward to seeing what the days of Autumn offer me in terms of creativity for this year long challenge.

Today is day 59 of the Recycled Glass Jewellery challenge, and I am sharing a photo of a necklace I made this morning. The beads are made from a Bombay Sapphire Gin bottle. Such a great colour!

Blue Depression Glass

recycled glass necklace

I have collected all sorts of glass over the years, some of which I have used a lot (Green Depression Glass), and some that I have been waiting for the right project – hello Blue Depression Glass!

I rediscovered this glass when I was going through my collection the other day. I felt ready to make something with it, especially after playing with the Pink Depression Glass the other day.

Here’s the necklace I made:
