I used mostly gin and tonic bottle beads for this bracelet, and threw a few other recycled glass beads in for good luck!

Days like today…
On days like today, when there are a million things to do, it would be easy to say “I don’t have time to make a piece of jewellery.” Trust me, I thought about it. But sometimes that’s the reason to drag my butt over to the desk where I make jewellery, sit myself down, and start looking through all of the beads I have made. Today, I was drawn to the blue beads, and I wondered what I could make that didn’t take too much time, but was still nice, and used my beads in different ways. Today I started picking through the cobalt blue Skyy Vodka bottle beads, wondering if I needed to add any other colours, when I realised I might have enough for a bracelet. I love how this one came together. Both the actual bracelet, and the massive push to sit down and make something. It reminds me of why I am doing this daily making project. It’s not always easy, but it is always worth it!
Luscious
I love it when I have all of my recycled glass beads out on my desk and I can see them all, and start working across the colours, instead of just using one single colour.
This luscious bracelet is what happens:
Beads made from: Hendricks Gin, Coopers Ale, Pink Depression Glass, and 2 old purple glasses.
You might have guessed I was going to make this bracelet….
Beads made from a Fever-Tree tonic water bottle!
It has been great to see all of these bracelets come together, just by changing one simple thing, we have ended up at a completely different bracelet (each time).
Playing with gin and tonic bead bracelets
I’ve been having a lot of fun with these bracelets. Changing one thing to get a completely different bracelet. I had thought while I was making yesterday’s bracelet that I might like to change one more thing, because I was curious, so I switched out the Hendricks disk beads for Fever-Tree disk beads, and switched it up completely.
Change one thing
I have always been fascinated with the complexity and simplicity of design! After I have made a piece I often spend a little bit of time thinking about “what if I changed this bit here?”
So today I decided to take inspiration from that idea, and change one thing from yesterday’s bracelet. Here is today’s version:
Yesterday I used clear Fever-Tree tonic water bottle beads in between the Hendricks Gin bottle disk beads. Today I opted to use all Hendricks bottle beads…hmm, that’s got me thinking about tomorrow!
Gin and Tonic bracelet
I made this bracelet yesterday as part of my year long recycled glass jewellery challenge, but by the time I finished it, it was too dark to photograph it! So here is yesterday’s bracelet, and I’ll be back a bit later with today’s piece.
This bracelet was made with beads from a Hendricks Gin and Fever-Tree tonic bottle! Love all the reflections in this piece.
These colours were calling me back today…
Whenever I get work ready for a window display or an exhibition, I always make more beads than I can use. There are always leftover beads in various containers.
Today I went through some of them and found I had enough beads to make a bracelet. Featured in this bracelet are beads from pink depression glass, green depression glass, some purple glasses, and a wine bottle.
It’s such a beautiful day here, and this bracelet seemed to match the day in a way!
Dawn Service
I was up early today for the Dawn Service in Yorketown. I try to get to a Dawn Service each year, and I was happy to be able to attend the one in Yorketown this morning. I used to attend this one when I was a Girl Guide! I thought the ceremony was really lovely. The morning was just getting light as the service started, and there were lots of people there.
I wasn’t sure how easy it would be to fit in making jewellery today! But I snuck into my room for a while and put some recycled glass beads together, choosing from the browns, greens and purples that I had made. I am loving this combination of colours!
Blue and Green plaited bracelet
Today as I was unpacking all of the beads that I took to T’Arts yesterday, I was also thinking “what on earth am I going to make today?” Sometimes I am a bit more organised than this when it comes to my daily challenge to make a piece of jewellery from recycled glass. Sometimes I have beads made from the previous day that are ready to make into jewellery. And sometimes, I’m just a bit behind, and it kind of forces me to look at what I have on hand, and what I can make from that. I find this way very stressful, but it has also resulted in some nice pieces of jewellery too!
So today I was putting all of my green beads in this pile, blue beads in that pile, and I thought “why don’t I use some of those small blue and green beads in a bracelet?”
And this is what I made:
