I tested out some of the little flower beads a while ago, and was quite pleased with how they turned out. Today I made a necklace! Such a pretty little combination of flowers and colours.

Years ago I made some beads from a broken window, and I had kind of forgotten about that as a source of recycled glass until I was planning my work for The Adelaide Remakery.
I thought a broken window would suit the theme of the exhibition really well.
I tried some new techniques to make the beads for these pieces. The necklace is super interesting, with lots of movement and interesting colours.
I love how this necklace turned out! Made from a Bethany Winery wine bottle, the beads are subtly decorated with gold and silver pixie dust, making them look super pretty.
They match with these earrings. Would you wear them together?
This would have to be one of my favourite colour combinations. With beads made from a Hendricks Gin and Fever-Tree Tonic water bottles I think it’s timeless in terms of colours, and also very elegant in terms of styling. This necklace would work so well with so many things in MY wardrobe, especially during the winter.
I am working towards 4 SALA exhibitions this year, and I can’t wait to take some of these beads and add a little something else to them! Stay tuned, I am hoping it’s going to be amazing (but I could be wrong)!
Today I made a necklace featuring beads from wine, gin and tonic bottles. I love taking the time to talk to people about how these beads are made, so here goes:
Well it’s definitely winter here! I have been doing a lot of driving lately and it has been quite lovely to watch the paddocks turn from brown to green. This necklace is inspired by the changing season. Using beads made from beer, wine and champagne bottles, I think it captures the change from brown paddocks through to lush green fields quite nicely.
I wasn’t sure how this necklace was going to turn out. I couldn’t quite picture it in my mind. So I tried it, and well, I’m still not sure about it, but it might lead to new things, so that’s a good thing!
I was so pleased to wake up today knowing that it was a long weekend and I didn’t have to be anywhere else but at home. We all woke up a little later than normal, and I have had a chance to play with some more design ideas with the enamelled copper tubes and various recycled glass beads. I really like how this one sits.
It’s the Sunday of a long weekend where I live, and it has been so nice to have a sleep in and a little bit of a relaxing time. It makes a nice change from the past few weeks where it has been a little bit hectic in my world.
Today, to celebrate this chilled out day, I made a necklace to go with those lazy Sunday afternoon vibes. Here it is:
I love how many different shades of blue I get to use – vodka bottles, gin bottles, wine bottles and blue depression glass. They all work so nicely together.
